Transportation
Each Thursday we provide transportation to and from medical appointments and  shopping in Montrose. We also provide van transportation to program activities in a friendly, group format. Volunteers use their own vehicle to transport the Neighbor to doctor, dentist or other medical appointments, prescription pick up and social service appointments that may occur on a day other than Thursday.

Meals on Wheels
Hot and nutritious meals are delivered in both Ridgway and Ouray.
Senior Lunch Every Monday
Seniors meet to share a wonderful lunch, have a chance to socialize and enjoy an entertaining program. Transportation is provided.

Friendly Visiting
A volunteer pays a special visit a minimum of once a week. These can be as simple as merely listening, providing companionship, friendship, or a social outing such as lunch, shopping, attending a church or community function, a trip to the barber or beauty salon, etc.

Friendly Phoning
Volunteers phone a Neighbor once or twice a week to be sure they are doing fine and
provide that much needed human contact.

Access to Needed Resources
We connect our Neighbors to resources that fill a need we cannot provide.

Handyman Services
      Minor home repairs are made.

Computer Support
Assistance with setup and software operation is provided.

Bookkeeping Help
Volunteers help with monthly bill paying, Medicare statements and the like.
Shopping With and For
A volunteer will either take the Neighbor shopping or shop for the Neighbor from their list.

Monthly Social Activities
Each month is filled with special activities such as picnics, concerts, lunch programs,
movie matinees, theme dinners and special trips.  This gives our Neighbors something to look forward to and a break from the four walls that surround them every day.

ADRC-r10 logo for Aging and Disability

ADRC stands for Aging and Disability Resources for Colorado.

The mission of ADRC is to provide individuals, family members, caregivers and significant others a coordinated and streamlined access point to long term care services and support through one on one Assessments and Options Counseling with our Senior Coordinator. The goal is to promote informed decisions that align with personal preferences, strengths, values and needs.

But what is Long-Term Care? It is not necessarily medical care as much as a range of services and support that may be needed to meet the basic and personal tasks of everyday life. Examples would be help with bathing, meal preparation, taking medication, housekeeping, caring for pets, managing money, etc. It can also include Estate Planning, Caregiver Support and Advocacy.

Some services and resources available to qualifying individuals include medical equipment, safety devices, hearing aids, dental assistance, eye glasses, medical assistance, information on assisted living facilities, caregiver assistance, home health care, home modifications, financial assistance, legal assistance, information on Long Term Care insurance, Medicare and Prescription Drug Counseling, nursing home information, nutrition counseling, private case management, Social Security and Veterans' benefits.

We are thrilled to be able to offer this expanded role in the county as it will provide far-reaching and much needed access to services beyond the scope of the program.
